Through her photography, Yoonsuk Kim finds herself and communicates with others. The book ‘Here to Stay’ shows the process of understanding and healing oneself while longing for deep communication with others. Images of the places and objects discovered by Kim look disjointed, but at the same time show the intimate connection of the unconscious. In the book, the fleeting beauty of life meets fragile moments: the objects in the silence, a small gap in solid concrete, an intangible cloud and its moments of light, the rubble of collapsed buildings and structures that stand in the air dangerously. She contemplates the moment “when she sympathizes with her eyes” and offers comfort and connection in a delicate and tender photographic language.
