Sea of Clouds
Barbara Bosworth
“Do not blame me if I do talk to the clouds.”_Henry David Thoreau
Barbara Bosworth photographs nature with a large format camera, deeply exploring the relationship between nature and humans. For Bosworth, who has taken photos for more than 40 years, photography is an act of capturing things that are disappearing and a tool that allows her to reflect on life and death. Barbara Bosworth often flew to meet her mother, who was nearing the end of her life’s journey. The scenery above the clouds, seen through the small window of a plane, reminded her of heaven. Images taken with a large format 8×10 camera describes a place that does not exist in this world. This book, ‘Sea of Clouds’ is made as an accordion book, reminiscent of an endless sea of clouds.
