Resonant Voices
Gitz vol.9
Magazine Gitz vol.9 explores and introduces the world of two artists under the theme of ‘Resonant Voices’. Over the course of 30 years, Lonnie Graham has carried out ‘A Conversation with the World’ in more than 50 different countries in six continents. He interviews the people he meets concerning eight subjects—origins, family, life, death, values, tradition, connections and western culture—and photographs them. Jane Baldwin’s most recent project, ‘Kara Women Speak/Stories from Women’, is multi-sensory, immersive body of work about women, culture, human rights and the environmental issues the threaten the communities of Ethiopia’s Omo River Valley and Kenya’s Lake Turkana watershed. Like the word ‘resonance’, which means a deep, clear, and strong sound, the two artists have devoted themselves to a meaningful photography project that reveals yet unknown truths based on strong humanity.
